El Molino Ed Fund

Dear 600 Lions donors and El Molino High school supporters,

The El Molino Education Fund wishes to extend our highest hopes for continued physical, financial and emotional health to you and your families, friends and neighbors. We want you to know that in these trying times the El Mo Ed Fund continues to be there for our Lions with financial support for classroom teachers who strive to provide innovative, creative, student centered high school experiences via distance learning.

We’d like to update you on happenings and grants of the El Mo Ed Fund during the 2019-2020 school year and tentative plans for the 2020-21 school calendar.

With your generous support, the Ed Fund was able to keep three classes of electives (~$35,000) from being cut during the 2019-2020 school year. These classes included French, Yearbook, and Dance. Teachers submitted grant proposals and were awarded over $10,000 for supplemental instructional materials that benefited students across the grades both in person and online. These requests included classroom calculators, electronic subscriptions for the English and History departments, $100 school supply gift card for each teacher at El Molino, in person coaching for SAT preparation, in class manipulatives to improve movement and balance, and books for student study skills development. These dollars touched the lives of each and every student at El Molino in some shape or form. Many students were supported in multiple ways!

In conjunction with the El Molino Boosters, the Ed Fund supported the Class of 2020 in their graduation celebration in the midst of the pandemic. Together, our groups provided individual lawn signs for each graduate, senior portraits for display at the day long graduation ceremony, and a full page, color congratulatory ad in the Sonoma West Times. We are so proud of the accomplishments and resiliency of our Lions!

Our plans for a golf tournament and a homecoming gathering have been sidelined indefinitely. Do know that when the green light is given, we will be back at hosting events to connect our El Molino Lion community in support and celebration of each other.

Meanwhile, our Lions Take a Seat campaign is live and ongoing. The remarkable Performing Arts Center is completed and seats have been installed. Check out our website for photos and order form for your engraved seat plaque. We have installed over 60 plaques to date! Please join us in celebrating this stunning new addition to the El Molino campus.

Please continue to contribute, if you can, here. Or write a check to El Molino Education Fund, 7050 Covey Road, Forestville, CA 95436. And lastly, do consider joining us, the El Molino Education Fund, as a board member. We welcome your skills, strengths, and passion for El Molino High School.

Check out our Teachers and Their Back to School Welcome. Together, We Are El Molino!
